Japanese sports brand Mizuno experiences system outages from possible ransomware attack

On Tuesday 8th of February 2022, Mizuno, a Japanese sports equipment and sportswear company with locations throughout Asia, Europe, and North America started to experience system outages involving phone outages and order delays. It is believed that it is due to a ransomware attack on their US corporate network over the weekend of the 4th of February.

Many customers have stated that they have told by Mizuno support representatives that “their whole system is down so no one can even order anything(baseball, golf, softball, volleyball, swimming, training, ect products) from them at the moment.” According to customers that have spoken to the Mizuno support representatives, Mizuno are currently working on restoring their system.

At this current time, Mizuno has not provided any public statement about what is causing their week-long outages or to any queries being asked by media outlets. So therefore, currently it is unknown which ransomware gang is behind the attack.
