AGCO, US agricultural machinery maker announces they suffered a ransomware attack

On Thursday 5th of May 2022, AGCO, one of the leading US-based agricultural machinery producers suffered a ransomware attack which resulted in some of their production facilities being impacted. This incident was announced on Friday 6th of May 2022 in a press release where AGCO stated that their business operations will be affected for several days whilst they repair their IT systems.

“AGCO is still investigating the extent of the attack, but it is anticipated that its business operations will be adversely affected for several days and potentially longer to fully resume all services depending upon how quickly the Company is able to repair its systems. The Company will provide updates as the situation progresses.” – AGCO press release.

They also stated in their press release that they’ve started an investigation and they will provide updates on the findings of their investigation. Currently, no ransomware group has claimed the incident or been linked to the incident.
