Edward Don and Company is one of the largest distributors of foodservice equipment and supplies, such as kitchen supplies, bar supplies, flatware, and dinnerware.<\/p><p>Even though Edward Don has not publicly disclosed the attack at this time, there is evidence of a possible attack happened when reports of Edward Don\u2019s employees were having to decline new orders and communication with their current clients were being carried out via private Gmail accounts.<\/p><p>This incident is expected to cause a significant disruption in the supply chain for hospitals, restaurants, hotels, and bars as they are not able to place for supplies of products.<\/p><p>Currently there is no clear indications of what ransomware is responsible for this incident but there are reports suggesting that the banking trojan Qbot might have been used to infect the company due to how popular the use of banking trojans like Qbot are being partnered with ransomware to help provide the threat actors with remote access that is used to laterally move through victims\u2019 networks.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Earlier this week, ransomware was believed to have affected Edward Don and Company\u2019s networks, phone systems, and email services.
